10 Ways to Live More Frugally

Are you on a tight budget like our little family is? Are you trying to start living more prudently? Maybe you are ready to earn some cash back for purchases because inflation/shrinkflation is NO JOKE. If so, here are 10 ideas to help start you saving some money and earn some cash back. Please feel free to add an idea or 2 on how you and your family save money in the comment section below.Â
1. 100% cotton napkins – Instead of paper towels. We still buy paper towels for cleaning, but not as much because we use 100% cotton napkins for our meals and dish rags to clean up messes.
2. 100% cotton tablecloth– My mother-in-law introduced me to plastic (plastic is not good for us in general) tablecloths, but they kept ripping, so we had to buy at least 3 tablecloths in a year. We spent about $25 a year. Now, we use 100% cotton tablecloths that have already lasted us for 2 years and they are still in great condition.Â
3. For REAL girls and women– switch to reusable cotton panty liners, period panties, and organic cloth pads. This will save so much money in the long run.Â
4. High Quality dishes, pots, pans, skillets, and utensils–Â Stainless steel, glass, cast iron, copper dishes, and using real silver or stainless steel silverware are not only better quality, but they are also good to use for your overall health compared to using plastic and melamine dishes that leach out cancer causing chemicals. You will also save you a ton of money instead of buying paper plates and paper utensils repeatedly.
5. Cook from Scratch– Try not to eat out and cook homemade meals instead. This will save people a lot of money because eating out is super expensive and not as good as a home cooked meal.Â

6. Buy in Bulk– Buying in bulk saves money in the long run because of inflation. You can stock up on dried goods that can last for years. (rice, beans, flour, sugar, etc)
7. Drink water– You can save a lot of money by not buying sodas and juices. A lot of sodas and juices have natural and artificial flavors which are extremely horrible for you!
8. Grow your food– Try starting a little and then gradually work every year towards growing more and more food. Start with simple foods to grow such as spinach, lettuce, green beans, potatoes, garlic, onions, etc.Â
9. Hang Clothes to Dry– Not only will hanging clothes outside save you on your electricity bill, but it is also better for your clothes. The sun kills lots of germs and it will not shrink your 100% cotton clothes.Â
10. CASH back credit card- Try to use a cash back credit card. I highly recommend having Capital One or Chase if you can get a credit card. With every purchase you make, you can get cashback
